ABOUT US

The LSESU Law Society is one of the largest and most active societies at LSE, for law and non-law students alike. We are the biggest academic society at the university and have hundreds of members spanning subjects from economics to history. We are the society to join if you are, in any way, interested in the legal profession! We organise socials and a variety of career, workshop, and networking events with both firms and chambers to introduce our members to the vast world of law.

Due to the size of our society, and the limitless possibilities in the legal world, we have various sub-divisions that specifically cater to certain spheres of law. The LSE Law Review provides a platform for legal academia, the Bar and Chambers team introduces students to the barrister profession, our Solicitor Network caters to those interested in law firms, the LSE Student Division of Lawyers Without Borders provides an opportunity to explore human rights and rule of law violations, our Pro Bono team offers students the opportunity to involve themselves in volunteer work, and our Podcast division provides for a more creative outlet for members interested in the legal sphere. Each division offers students the opportunity to take on responsibility and get involved in planning events that centre around their interests.

We are also renowned for our huge social events. We organise socials at some of the best bars & venues in London with our October ‘Welcome Drinks’ and our Summer ‘Law Ball’ being part of our flagship lineup. These events are complemented by smaller-scale activity-oriented socials that afford our members the opportunity to get to know each other outside of classes!
