The LSE Law Society aims to offer a diverse set of career events over the year! From workshops, skills sessions, panels, to conference style events. We already have lots of events lined up for the year, for which the details will be available on your weekly Lawsoc newsletter.
As your Careers Officer this year, I hope to offer a spectrum of events, which span far from just the commercial law route. The aim of our career events are to expose you to the variety of career paths available, whether you want to decide on one now or even if you just want to explore! We hope to assist you in whatever journey you wish to take.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, feedback or if you want to discuss anything career related.

A QUICK GUIDE TO OUR FLAGSHIP EVENTS
Know The City Legal Forum (LSE-KTC)
You’ve probably heard the term ‘commercial awareness’ thrown around a LOT!
This event is a combination of panels and Q&A sessions, delivered by legal professionals who work in the city, in order to demystify this term. We aim to provide you with an insight into the different practise areas and sectors which firms focus on, the state of the market, the pro-bono opportunities offered, informal networking, and so much more!
We encourage all those who plan to apply for workshops, vacation schemes and training contracts, to attend. By the end, you will be more than prepared for case study interviews and applications for a legal career in the city.
Law For All
This conference style event, aimed at all year groups, aims to give you a deeper insight into the different career paths available to you – whether it be the bar, academia, politics, human rights or the city!
We aim to line up notable speakers, from a variety of different backgrounds, to attend and offer an insight into their career trajectories, what the career path entails and how to get involved at your stage. You will get a chance to ask them questions during Q&A sessions and informal networking after the conference.
It will be a great chance to meet professionals, build your network and obtain advice from them, to help you make an informed decision about your future. You never know what doors can be opened for your career by a simple introduction to someone!
Meet the Vac Schemers
This event is a panel session, aimed at second years and third years. The panel will consist of third years who did vacation schemes over the summer, whether it be at Magic Circle, Silver Circle or International and US law firms. You will be able to get an invaluable insight into the application process, what the schemes entail, and of course, how to put yourself in the best position to secure a training contract at the end!
We hope that it provides you with a chance to prepare for your journey ahead, and perhaps be able to differentiate firms after speaking to our representatives.
